New Website for 20th Anniversary

May 01, 2017

"The best time to plant a tree is twenty years ago. The second best time is today." -- Japanese Proverb

It's amazing to think that 20 years has passed by so quickly, but twenty years ago in a Johns Hopkins Computer Science lab the domain name digitalconstruction.com was registered by college student Mark Scheel. The very first version of this website had an electron microsope image of a fruit fly, made that week in a nearby lab. Just because it looked really cool.

Over two decades Digital Construction has gone from a Macromedia Director shop that made custom software for grocery store kiosks by contract, to mostly an Android development shop. We have built networked Java chat tools for unions, did a brief stint on contract for that guy who became our president when he ran a beauty pageant, designed industry specifications, and competed in many hackathons winning tens of thousands of dollars, prizes and a year's worth of free beer. It's been a good ride, and we are excited to keep moving the needle forward.

We created this new website to better serve folks on mobile devices and to make content updates easier. Hopefully that means more timely and descriptive updates from the company that started in Baltimore and now is headquartered in booming Denver, Colorado.

Whatever you do, wherever you do it, may you have the longevity and success we have enjoyed. Thank you to every client that made this run possible!

_Mark will be at Google I/O in a couple weeks, if you are attending drop a line at the contact form below.__
