Mark Scheel will be speaking at Wearables Tech Con in Santa Clara California in March.

"I am excited to be back at the second year of this event, giving two talks and sitting on a medical wearables panel with esteemed colleagues. It's going to be a great conference. I want to thank iTriage for supporting this effort" said Mark Scheel, president of Digital Construction.

The talks are summarized below.

Getting Started with Fitness Data for App Developers in the App Store and Play Store

This tutorial-style class will cover everything you need to know to get started tracking fitness data for your users in the Android or Apple ecosystem. We will start by reviewing everything there is to know about Google Fit today. We will review data types, hardware, look at code samples in Android Studio and talk about popular apps using Google Fit.

Next, we will look at Apple Health Kit. We'll talk about data types, review any late breaking hardware information, and look at some code samples in Xcode. We will talk about what kinds of apps are possible using Apple Health Kit.

Finally, we will do a deep dive into some Android code in Android Studio; we will see how to build an app that captures custom data, highlighting where the Google tutorials have compile errors, and how to not get caught in those traps as you work on the next great app to delight users by capitalizing on fitness data.

Medical Wearables: A Survey

What do an 18th century Danish Physicist and a TV repair man have to do with one of the greatest wearables in medical history? What lessons can we draw from the historical arc of this life saving innovation that has been helping people for half a century?

In this humorous and educational class, we will review the history of one specific wearable, talk about--no kidding--the units that are plutonium powered and being used today, and be hands on with devices pre-dating lithium battery technology. The lessons forged over years can be applied to today to the wearables revolution.

Next, we will take a look at data from a recent survey conducted by health literacy leader iTriage, that targeted mobile users and their attitudes and thoughts on medical and fitness wearables and apps alike.  This actionable data will apply to any attendee of WTC2015. Finally, we will close with a survey of growth areas, with an eye to the future.

This three-part talk, focusing on the past, present, and future will entertain and educate. Don't miss it!
